The "Performance" Problem

Most homeowners want just a few things from their laptop or desktop PCs these days. They want to get on the internet, they want to do minor document creation in Word & Excel, and they want to have it done fast. The problem is that most big box stores don't have trained staff providing reliable information regarding the units that fit into these brackets. The end result is a $300-$400 laptop or desktop that feels sluggish just a few months after buying it. We see it time and time again here in the shop and our answer is always this:

"I'm sorry, but you've bought a piece of junk."

The "Performance" Solution

Shoreline PC offers three types of solutions for new computers. The first is our consultation services. For a $50 consultation fee, we will ask you a few questions, determine your use habits, and recommend viable hardware that won't bottleneck you in a year.

The second solution is to have us acquire a unit for you. This often comes with service costs attached to it, which means when you get it back, you'll have almost all your programs, documents, photographs, e-mails, bookmarks, etc. already pre-loaded on there. We also remove all that obnoxious bloatware that plagues pre-bought units.

The third solution is having us build a custom PC for you from scratch. We can outline all the parts you'll need and either you can purchase them and bring them to us, or we can acquire them and have them shipped direct. Either way, the end result is a computer built for your personal preferences. This is a perfect solution for those who want to stay on Windows 7 in the coming years!

"Custom" Isn't Just Hardware

The word custom can apply to a lot of things -- and we use it here to mean the whole experience. Whether you decide to purchase a pre-built laptop or desktop for your home, we can remove the bloatware that typically comes installed on these units. We can then install all the software you need and load up an advanced security arsenal to keep your new computer safe from its worst enemy -- you! Simple hardware upgrades like a solid state hard drive or additional RAM can drastically improve performance at a fraction of the cost.

Our services are quick, and it usually takes 1 day to perform most new computer customizations. Call us to schedule a time for drop off or to get an idea on pricing!

Specifications

CPU: Always an Intel i5 or greater. Ryzen is available as well.
RAM: Minimum 8GB DDR4
OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and Linux Distros available.
HDD: Standard hard drives are a thing of the past. SSD or SSHD are included on every custom build and selected based on overall budget. Upgrades are available for pre-built units.
GPU: Dedicated 1GB-minimum graphics cards are included to ensure at least 2 screen usage, always utilizing nVidia architecture on custom builds. Pre-builts come with whatever is specified.
Cooling: Standard mechanical fans included by default. Maintenance-free liquid cooling available for minor cost upgrade.
Wireless: Wifi card upgrades are available upon request for custom build units.
